Poem: ‘Lifestyle’
Margaret Moore, 16 February 1984
Mailed fists could easily manage The earlier alphabets; Straight lines incised The deeds of dead warriors, The unbending will of the gods, The rules of division, Upon tablets of stone.
In the hedgeschools we attempt The humanist current cursive, Writing with quickening fingers (While there are yet fingers), Writing lightly upon skin (While there is yet skin).
