Artwork Specification
- Electronic formats: QuarkXpress, PDF (Acrobat), EPS (encapsulated PostScript) Adobe Illustrator. EPS files should come with all text converted to curves/outlines.
- Please name files as follows:
LRB [issue number] [company name]
(for example: LRB 09 Tonson)
- At the time of transmission please fax or send paper proof of all ads submitted electronically.
- Advertisements can be submitted on disk – standard Mac or PC, Zip, cd-rom or e-mailed to: artwork@lrb.co.uk

Conditions of Advertising
- All advertisements are subject to the approval of the London Review of Books. We reserve the right to reject or cancel any advertising at any time.
- The London Review of Books reserves the right to request advance payment for composition and/or space.
- The advertiser and or its agents agrees to indemnify the London Review of Books against any loss, damages, or expenses arising from the use by advertisers of any authorised name, photography, sketch or words protected by copyright or trademark.
- The London Review of Books assumes no liability for errors in key numbers or codes.
- Advertisers wishing to cancel any space orders should do so by the Wednesday prior to the advertised copy date (see Publication schedule). Any advertisers cancelling after that date will be charged for the amount of space booked.
- The quality of reproduction of any advertisement in the London Review of Books cannot be guaranteed if the specifications set out on this rate card are not adhered to or if the material is received after copy deadlines.
- A charge will be made for setting rough copy.
- VAT - VAT registered advertisers resident in non-UK/EC countries should supply VAT registration number for zero rating.
- The London Review of Books will not be liable for any consequential loss or damage resulting from failure of any advertisement to appear from any cause whatsoever, nor does it accept liability for errors in any advertisement published nor its failure to appear on a given date.
- All orders are bound solely by the conditions as listed on this rate card. Other contrary conditions listed on orders by the client will be deemed not to apply.
- In the event of copy instructions not being received by the copy deadline, the London Review of Books reserves the right to repeat the copy last used. Late delivery of the material after the final copy deadline may incur forfeiture of the space booked at full cost.
- The London Review of Books cannot accept responsibility for changes in copy unless these are confirmed in writing and in time for the changes to be made. The London Review of Books reserves the right to charge for any additional expense incurred by such changes.
- Copy must conform to the specifications published here. Any additional work entailed by incorrectly submitted copy will be charged for.
- The advertiser shall be responsible for the insurance of all artwork and other advertising material delivered by him to the London Review of Books, and the London Review of Books cannot be responsible for any loss or damage.
- The London Review of Books reserves the right to destroy all materials which have been in its custody for three months, provided the advertiser or advertiser's agent has not given instructions to the contrary.
- Classified advertisements are set in house style unless otherwise arranged.
- Acceptance of an advertisement by the London Review of Books constitutes a warranty by the advertiser to the London Review of Books that the advertisement does not in any way contravene the provisions of the Trade Descriptions Act 1968.
- Orders subject to a series discount must be completed within twelve months. If a cancellation results in an advertiser failing to reach agreed insertion levels to qualify for a series discount, the advertiser will be surcharged on prior insertions at the relevant level of series discount.
